Images captured by an internal security camera show the exact moment of the explosion of an ethanol tank inside the Caté plantin São Miguel dos Campos, Zona da Mata de Alagoas.
The fire, which started around 7:49 am this Wednesday (28/09), lasted for more than five hours, until it was controlled by a team from the Military Fire Department (CBM), which was called to the scene.
According to the information, two employees of the company suffered minor injuries. One of the victims was admitted to a UPA in the municipality, but has since been released.
Through the video, it is possible to perceive a man, possibly the security of the place, close to what happened. He is startled by the noise caused by the explosion and tries to protect himself.

The Public Ministry of Labor informed that it will open an investigation to determine the causes of the explosion. A group of plant employees was heard, and an inspection was carried out by labor inspectors at the company, still on the day of the event.
By means of a note, Usina Caeté informed that a measure was adopted to evacuate the area, so that the place could be cooled down together with the other tanks, in an attempt to avoid a new incident.
