A 45-year-old woman and a 36-year-old man died after being shot at on Rua da Regeneração, in Água Fria, in the North Zone of Recife. According to relatives, the merchant Cristiane was attending to a customer, on the night of Thursday (22), when criminals on a motorcycle arrived shooting and hit the two (see video above).

Cristiane’s brother-in-law, Edivaldo Viturino da Silva said that the crime happened around 8 pm. There, the family sets up a stall to sell pastries. “The guy arrived, asked for a pastel. She gave the pastel and sent her husband to get the soda. It was at that moment that two guys arrived on a motorcycle already shooting”, recalled Edivaldo.
The shopkeeper was with her mother and daughter in the tent where she sells snacks. “She threw her daughter to one side, her mother to the other and was hit by the shots. And the boy they came to kill died here”, reported the relative.
“They were too good people. He left two daughters, he left everything behind because of some disgusting people who came to kill another person and arrived shooting. And they could have killed more people”, declared the brother-in-law.

The maid Edineusa da Costa was a friend of the shopkeeper was at the door of her house, which is close to the crime scene, talking to relatives, when she heard the sound of shots.
“I heard it. There were 14 shots. The girl said ‘it’s fireworks’. I said: ‘it’s not’. And people said ‘it was at Beija Flor’. When we found out that Cris was hit, we hoped to find her with life, because we love Cris here. A warrior, hardworking woman”, said Edineusa.
The injured woman was taken to the Amaury Coutinho Polyclinic, in Campina do Barreto, but could not resist the injuries and died. The name of the man who died at the scene has not been released.

In a statement, the Civil Police stated that the case is being investigated by the 2nd Homicide Police Station and that “investigations and expertise are in progress and the work will only end with the complete elucidation of the facts and the identification, as well as the criminal responsibility of the authors”.
The corporation also said it would not be able to share other information about the investigation “so as not to harm the work in progress.”
