Parents denounce drugs and sex during break between classes at Moeda school

Parents of students denounce the use of drugs and the practice of oral sex during the break between classes at the Senador Melo Viana State School, in Moeda, in the central region of Minas Gerais. A video that circulates on social media shows two students performing sexual practice inside a classroom. The images would have been recorded in the last week.

According to the mother of one of the students, who requested anonymity, for fear of reprisals, the episodes are recurrent. The teachers, according to her, feel intimidated to call the Military Police and other people in charge. “It’s terrifying to think that all this happens inside a school,” she said. The mother says that the parents of some students even sought the direction of the educational institution reporting the problem, but the situation still continues. “What we realize is that there is a need for greater policing, even within the school,” she reported.

The Senador Melo Viana State School serves students from the 6th to the 9th year of Elementary School, and also from the 1st to 3rd year of High School. Classes take place in the morning and afternoon. According to this mother, the students in the video are 12 years old and study in the afternoon. “The boys talk about it. They know who the students in the video are,” she said.

Another resident of the city, who lives near the school, told the report, also anonymously, that the problems at the teaching unit are constant. “There are people using drugs, having sex, students threatening teachers,” she said. According to her, the situation worries and causes insecurity for those who live in the region. “I was at the gym and people told me this story (from the video). People are bothered by all this,” she vented.

Regarding the situation reported at the Senador Melo Viana State School, in Moeda, the Minas Gerais State Department of Education (SEE/MG) reports that there was no record of students using any narcotic substance within the school unit. Regarding the video that is circulating on social media, we clarify that, according to the investigation carried out by the school administration, it is a simulation made by the students and not the practice of the act itself. The school management talked to the students involved and provided guidance on inappropriate behavior in the classroom and in the school environment. Those responsible for these students were also called, together with the Guardianship Council, to clarify the facts.

‘Simulation’, says secretary

The party also guarantees that “there was no record of students using any narcotic substance within the school unit”.
