The Dean of Education (Proens) of the State University of Rio Grande do Sul (Uergs) launched, on September 16, the Notice 01/2022 for the selection of scholarship holders for the Institutional Scholarship Program for Teaching Initiation (Pibid) and the Pedagogical Residency Program (PRP), after approval by the Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel (Capes) at the beginning of the month.
The public notice provides for the granting of 144 teaching initiation grants and 120 grants for residents. The value of the scholarships is R$ 400 per month for scholarship holders from both programs, which seek to encourage the performance of undergraduate students in Basic Education schools. Uergs obtained the 38th position for Pibid and 116th for the PRP.

Applications must be made by October 2nd through electronic forms (Google Forms) available by clicking on the Bid Notice and RP 2022 page or the form available in Annex I of the public notice.
The Uergs courses covered by the Pibid and RP programs are: Pedagogy, at the units in Alegrete, Bagé, Cruz Alta and São Luiz Gonzaga; Visual Arts, Dance, Music and Theater in Montenegro; and Letters, in Porto Alegre.

• Pibid’s purpose is to provide students in the first half of licensure courses with insertion into the daily life of public basic education schools, contributing to the improvement of teacher training at higher education.
• The PRP aims to promote institutional projects of pedagogical residency implemented by higher education institutions, contributing to the improvement of the initial training of
teachers of basic education in undergraduate courses.
• In general, Pibid and PRP have been collaborating for the strengthening and valorization of licentiates, as well as for the training of teachers who work in education networks. You
programs also encourage contextualized activities in schools, with the support of basic education teachers, contributing to initial training and development
