EcoRioMinas took over, this Thursday (22/9), the operation of sections of the BR-116, BR-493 (RJ) and BR-465 (RJ) that are part of the Rio de Janeiro (RJ) Highway System – Governador Valadares (MG). There are 726.9 kilometers of highways, which will receive emergency renovations this year, such as repairs to paving, signage and lighting.
At the Engenheiro Pierre Berman square, the fare for cars, trucks and vans is R$18.60. In Santa Guilhermina and Santo Aleixo squares, the price is R$13 for light vehicles.
The tolls on the Minas Gerais stretch of BR-116, which runs from Alm Paraba to Governador Valadares, will still be built and will only begin to function in September 2023.
The concessionaire offers a discount for those who go through the collection plaza more than once in the same month. Through a tag on the car, each ticket registered and the discount percentage increases. The minimum fare can reach BRL 0.02.
Among the new services offered by the company that takes over the operation of the roads is free medical and mechanical assistance, available 24 hours a day, on the stretch of BR-116 between Duque de Caxias and the border with Minas, near Alm Paraba. The service can be called on 0800 116 0 493 or 0800 116 0 465 for the hearing impaired.
303 kilometers of duplication, 255 kilometers of additional lanes and 85.5 kilometers of side roads will be built. The works must take place between the second and fifth year of the concession. EcoRioMinas stated that major works will begin to be delivered from 2026.
