The Afropunk Festival already has a date set for its second edition, which will take place between the 26th and 27th (Saturday and Sunday) of November, this year, at Parque de Exposições in Salvador. The Bahia region will feature more than 30 national and international attractions and will last 26 hours and start at 7pm.
National artists such as Ludmilla and Baco Exu do Blues, the singer was confirmed as the third main attraction of the event and, Emicida, Liniker, Karol Conka, Larissa Luz, Yan Cloud, Nic Dias are already confirmed to be present as well. And, of course, the festival will count on the participation of international names such as: Dawer X Damper and Masego, who is the Jamaican artist who went viral with the song Tadow. Being, the second international attraction with its first time in Brazil. The event’s proposal is to present to the public a plural and diversified line-up that ranges from funk, pop, afrobeat and pagode.

The event, in addition to highlighting the connection with representation, ancestry and entrepreneurship, fashion and gastronomy. In its first edition, due to the pandemic, the event was held in a reduced format at the Salvador Convention Center to meet health safety protocols and was broadcast live on the You Tube channel and on the event website. The income raised from the festival was all directed to the socio-educational cultural project, Quabales in the Nordeste de Amaralina neighborhood in Salvador.
The previous edition brought together great musicians of black music such as Mano Brown shared the stage with Duquesa, Margareth Menezes sang alongside the carioca Malia, Tássia Reis with Ilê Aiyê. Tickets to participate in the second edition of the festival are between R$ 90.00 and R$ 720.00 in the current lot.
