One of the most famous sweets in the world, it’s hard to know anyone who doesn’t surrender to a good ice cream, especially on those hottest days. So sweet, dessert got a date to call your own. We have selected five locations in Brasília for you to celebrate National Ice Cream Day, celebrated this Friday (23/9).
At Bla’s Cozinha de Culturas restaurant (406 Norte), chef Gabriel Bla’s creativity goes beyond meals. The house brings original and unusual creations for the dessert made of ice cream.
Among the options served by the house, the highlight goes to the fruity (R$ 28.90), which consists of mango and wasabi sorbet with red fruits, sigh, pink pepper sauce and sunomono with sesame; and for the Caribbean (R$ 25.90), made of banana flambé with rum served with vanilla ice cream and baniwa ant.
Gelato di Gabi
Have you ever thought about trying a rose ice cream? The unusual idea is sold by Gelatte di Gàbi, which has created a special version of the house gelato for spring. Based on milk, the delight is made with rose extract and its composition includes all parts of the flower.
With prices starting at R$16, the dessert is made with 100% natural ingredients and promises, in addition to a unique flavor for diners, an unparalleled aroma.
Located at the entrance to Asbac, Açougue do Berg bets on delicious artisanal gelato options. They are available in cinnamon, banoffe and Belgian chocolate flavors.
“I should highlight the cinnamon gelato, which is the favorite of our customers for accompanying the famous instagrammable pancake finished in the parrilla iron. It’s an explosion of flavors on the palate”, comments Berg, a partner at the house. Ice creams start at R$25 and can be enjoyed at lunch or dinner.
With its own production and 100% handmade – including gelatos, cones and spreads – Milkway has eight different options of gelato weekly, with prices starting at R$ 14. The highlight of the house goes to the flavors Cookies, Pistache, Paçoca , cheesecake with strawberry jam, flakes, strawberry with orange, passion fruit with mango, and pineapple with mint.
Celebrating ice cream week, the house prepared a promotion for diners. Those who attend Milkway on Saturday (24/9) and order a gelato or a shake will receive additional brownies or sighs for free.
On Sunday (25/9), whoever presents a print of Stories or feed from Milkway’s Instagram account, you will be entitled to an upgrade on your order. That is, whoever asks for a scoop of gelato will get another, and whoever orders two, the third is on the house.
Located in the heart of Brasília, Blend Boucherie stands out in desserts. Among them, the gâteau soufflé (R$28.90), with milk ice cream and mouthwatering chestnut praline.
Gelato or ice cream?
It may seem that ice cream and gelato are the same recipes, but they are not. According to gastronomy professor Diego Koppe, there are some differences between the two versions of the candy that give each of them unique characteristics. Gelato, for example, tends to be creamier because it has less air added to the recipe.
In addition, gelato has a more intense flavor and lower proportion of fat, as it is produced with natural fruits, milk or cream and sugar. “Common ice creams use flavoring and egg whites or yolks to stabilize them”, emphasizes the specialist.
