The Joint Commission on Social Responsibility, composed of technical representatives from public bodies and civil society, responsible for analyzing the social balance of more than 90 registered companies and for selecting the participants of the 12th edition of the Santa Catarina Social Responsibility Certification and the Responsibility Trophy Social-Distaque SC, held this Monday (19) the first post-pandemic face-to-face meeting of Covid-19 to analyze the documentation sent to the award. On October 31, the companies that officially participate in this year’s awards will be announced.
Established in 2004, through Law 12,918/2004, the certification aims to recognize and highlight companies and other organizations established in Santa Catarina territory that present their social balance and proof of their publicity, thus promoting transparency in relations institutional and the commitment of all with the well-being of society and environmental preservation in Santa Catarina. In 11 editions, almost 1,100 certifications were made. In last year’s edition alone, there were 78 certifications.
The award seeks to recognize the social actions that companies already carry out from the balance sheet of the sustainability report that companies publish, explained Soraya Tonelli, representative of Sebrae at the event. “This is our first in-person meeting, post-pandemic, we have been meeting online. After the launch of this edition, more than 90 applications were received and we are now in the evaluation stage to identify the registered cases, if they meet all the criteria and requirements of the public notice.”
The certification is promoted by the Joint Commission on Social Responsibility, composed of technical representatives from public bodies and civil society, responsible for analyzing the social balance of those enrolled and for selecting those who will be certified and receive the Social Responsibility Trophy, in a formal session at Alesc . This year, in addition to Alesc, 10 other bodies and entities are part of the mixed commission. The delivery of certificates and trophies will take place in a solemn session at the Assembly on December 5th.
