A man was injured after being shot during an argument on Avenida Boa Viagem, in the South Zone of Recife, late Sunday afternoon (18), according to the Civil Police. The suspect in the attempted murder was taken into custody.
The crime happened around 5 pm between Pracinha de Boa Viagem and the Castelinho Building, the stretch where the trios of the Diversity Parade passed. Images showed fights and running during the event. However, the police did not say if, when the shot was fired, there was still a trio passing by. The parade started at 1 pm at Parque Dona Lindu.

The suspected shooter was referred to the Department of Homicide and Protection of the Person (DHPP), in the Cordeiro neighborhood, in the West Zone of Recife, where he was booked in flagrante delicto for attempted murder.
O g1 questioned whether the prisoner had authorization to use the weapon, but received no response until the last update of this report.
This was the first in-person edition of the Diversity Parade after two years with the event taking place only virtually because of the Covid-19 pandemic. In addition to the concerts at Parque Dona Lindu, 12 electric trios animated the public along the coast of Recife up to Padaria Boa Viagem.
