Rio – What was supposed to be an ordinary day at work turned into a traumatic experience for a winner of a supplement store in Botafogo, Rio’s South Zone. A well-dressed white man in his 30s entered the establishment and began urinating on the products. Police seek to identify the author and the employee commented that she asked not to work at night anymore: “I felt vulnerable and he, extremely calm”.

Jéssica Bertoldo Magalhães, 31, spoke to the DAY who is not usually there at that time, but, for an exchange, was working at the supplement store in Praia de Botafogo, last Saturday (17). Around 7 pm, she said that she was alert when two men stopped at the door of the establishment and one of them entered.

“Because I was alone in the store, I was afraid to see two men standing at the door and one of them enter. When he entered, I said good night and didn’t even get an answer. one of the shelves, puts his genitals out and starts urinating on the products, as if it were the most normal thing in the world. I couldn’t believe it,” she said, adding: “I realized that the man outside and he seems to be a friend of the author, when he saw the scene, he even tried to go in to avoid it, but when he saw that it was too late, he ran away”.

Jessica didn’t think twice: she took her cell phone and filmed everything. Seeing her screaming, the man limited himself to asking the saleswoman to calm down, finished what he was doing, left the place, returning to the bar next to the store, where he drank with other friends.

“He was totally calm, almost certain that nothing bad can happen to him. Proof of this is that, having done what he did, he still returned to the bar to continue fraternizing. His friends, perhaps a little more lucid, advised him to go away and one of them took him to the corner to get a taxi, whose license plate I managed to film,” he said.

The saleswoman, born in Ceará, in Rio for more than five years, said that she had never thought about or experienced anything similar. She commented that, after the author left, still very nervous, she noticed that the friends who continued drinking laughed at the whole situation, as if making fun of her.

“I felt completely vulnerable. Would he do what he did if he was working a man in my place at that time? Being a woman is waking up and thinking of ways for you to avoid being violated, offended, disrespected, whether by the clothes you wear at work. street and think that gives someone the right to mess with you or even in your workplace”, he said.

According to Jessica, the loss for the store reaches around R$ 500 in units of products that, out of respect for customers, will no longer be available for sale. She commented that, in contact with the boss, he asked her to drop everything and leave immediately. However, she chose to stay and ended up leaving after her hours, trying to clean and eliminate the odor caused by the man’s attitude.

Subsequently, according to the employee, it was agreed that she will no longer work at night.

In a statement, the Civil Police said that the occurrence was registered at the 10th DP (Botafogo). Security camera footage will be analyzed to identify the perpetrator and the investigation is ongoing.
