The President of the Republic and candidate for reelection, Jair Bolsonaro (PL), campaigned this Friday (16) in cities in Paraná.
“You, for the most part, have a country of origin. A peaceful country, a country that is also a rural producer, whose flag there integrates the same colors as the flag here. We are brothers, we want the good of each other. We hope for peace and Brazil will do everything, as it has been doing, for this peace to be achieved”, said Bolsonaro.

In February of this year, a few days before the start of the conflict in Eastern Europe, Bolsonaro was in Russia and met with the president of that country, Vladimir Putin.
Days later, amid international pressure to condemn Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, Bolsonaro said Brazil would adopt a neutral stance on the conflict.
Bolsonaro’s justification for neutrality was not to “bring the consequences of the clash to the country”. According to the president, Brazilian agribusiness is dependent on Russian fertilizer.
Bolsonaro has been criticized both for meeting Putin at a time of tension before the war and for refusing to heed international calls to condemn the invasion.

The president’s agenda began in Ponta Grossa, in Campos Gerais do Paraná. From there, he went by car to Guamiranga, where he took part in a motorcycle that ended up in Prudentópolis.
In the afternoon, the candidate must leave Ponta Grossa and go to Londrina, in the northern region of Paraná, where motorcycle racing and a rally are planned.
