Itaú spoke out and regretted what happened. “Itaú Unibanco deeply regrets what happened and offers its solidarity to the family. The client had a sudden illness at the entrance of the agency, so all emergency protocols were immediately activated, including medical assistance.”

According to the bank, the unit remained closed for the rest of the day. “Out of respect for the victim, customers and employees, the unit will remain closed. The employees were welcomed and will receive all necessary psychological support.”

“Uncle Paulo” died at the same agency in April; remember the case

On April 16 of this year, Paulo Roberto’s body was taken to a bank branch, in the West Zone of Rio de Janeiro, by his niece Érika Souza Vieira Nunes, to request a loan worth R$17,000.

The woman entered with the elderly man in a wheelchair and when going to the service desk, asked him to sign a document to authorize receiving the money.

At the time, bank employees suspected that the man was dead and called Samu, who certified the death of “Tio Paulo”. The police were called shortly afterwards and Érika was arrested red-handed.
