The Ministry of Education began today, 9/5, a consultation on the draft of new National Curricular Guidelines for undergraduate Nursing courses. Contributions must be sent by May 27, 2024 by email: [email protected]

The proposal was prepared by the National Education Council (CNE/MEC), in partnership with the Federal Nursing Council (Cofen) and the Brazilian Nursing Association (Aben), which, since 2021, have been discussing updating the DCNs for nursing courses. graduation.

Professor Isabel Cunha, coordinator of the Cofen Working Group (GT), reinforces the importance of the changes. “There are many changes. The current guidelines date from 2001 and, throughout these years, there has been an effort to update these standards, to ensure that Nursing teaching is not just theoretical, reinforcing the importance of face-to-face activities, through internships and practices”, he explains. she.

Five major teaching areas are proposed, within the undergraduate degree (bachelor’s degree), helping institutions to build their political-pedagogical projects. “Another important aspect is the emphasis on interdisciplinary and interprofessional training and the critical incorporation of scientific and technological innovations”, says Isabel Cunha.
