Amid the rise in Covid-19 cases in Mato Grosso, some doctors and health professionals have questioned the effectiveness of the vaccine against the coronavirus, and discouraged the population from getting immunized. The “denialists” were criticized by doctor and councilor Dr. Luiz Fernando (Republicans) in the Cuiabá Chamber.
“Health professionals are saying that the vaccine has greatly increased the number of heart attacks and pulmonary thrombosis. There is no real proof, or study, where this can be stated. These are just fallacies of some health professionals, who cannot say that,” she declared.
According to the State Department of Health (SES), the bivalent vaccine coverage rate is 8.16% in Mato Grosso. Immunization, according to the ministry, is important to prevent serious forms of the disease that can lead to death.
