Campaign shows risks of sexually transmitted diseases during Carnival in Dourados


The city of Dourados, through Sems (Municipal Health Department), the Department of Health Surveillance/SEMS and the Municipal STI/AIDS and Viral Hepatitis Program will carry out the Campaign to prevent sexually transmitted infections during Carnival 2024.

The action aims to raise awareness among the population about the importance of reconciling the fun and revelry of the popular festival, with preventative attitudes.

According to the schedule, on Thursday (8), the CTA team will carry out night patrols, with a team at the bus station distributing kits, condoms, information materials, gel and guidance.

In addition, another team will travel to nightclubs and streets bringing informational materials and distributing kits, carrying out oral self-tests for 2HIV.

On Friday (9), starting at 8 am, an action will take place at the PRF (Federal Highway Police) station with a blitz to distribute kits and information materials, in partnership with police officers.

On Saturday (10), from 1pm to 4pm, there will be a CTA team in partnership with the UFGD Teachers’ Association (Federal University of Grande Dourados) carrying out a prevention action with the distribution of kits, information materials and guidance.
