It’s from Brazil! Netflix released, this Tuesday (30), the first teaser for “Senna“an original miniseries that follows the trajectory of Ayrton Senna, Brazilian driver and three-time Formula 1 world champion.
In six episodes, the production explores the life story, achievements, personality and personal relationships of the Brazilian idol. The starting point will be the beginning of the three-time champion’s racing career, when he moves to England to compete in Formula Ford, until the tragic accident in Imola, Italy, during the San Marino Grand Prix in 1994.
Actor Gabriel Leone brings the protagonist to life and impressed in the preview. The cast also includes Alice Wegmann, playing Lilian, Ayrton’s first wife, Camila Márdila as Vivianne Senna, the pilot’s sister, Christian Malheiros as Maurinho, Senna’s friend, Gabriel Louchard as Galvão Bueno, Hugo Bonemer as Nelson Piquet, Julia Foti as Adriane Galisteu, Marco Ricca as Maurão, Ayrton’s father, Susana Ribeiro as Zaza, Ayrton’s mother, Pâmela Tomé as Xuxa, Nicolas Cruz as Leonardo Senna, Rodrigo Veloso as Flávio, Senna’s brother-in-law and Antônio Menqui playing Senna as a child.
And in addition to the Brazilian cast, the French also include Matt Mella (Alain Prost), Kaya Scodelario (playing journalist Laura), Arnaud Viard (Jean-Marie Balestre), Patrick Kennedy (Ron Dennis), Joe Hurst (Keith Sutton), Johannes Heinrichs (Nikki Lauda), Keisuke Hoashi (Osamu Goto), Leon Ockenden (James Hunt), Richard Clothier (Peter Warr), Steven Mackintosh (Frank Williams) and Tom Mannion (Sid Watkins), among others.
Directed by Vicente Amorim and Julia Rezende, Senna is produced by Gullane and produced in partnership with Senna Brands and the driver’s family. The script is by Álvaro Mamute, Thais Falcão and James Daniel Wilson. The recordings were made in Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay and the United Kingdom. No release date has been announced, the work will debut in 2024. Watch the first teaser:
