Rock in Rio announces shows by Avenged Sevenfold, Evanescence and Journey on Palco Mundo | Fun

Rio – Awaited by many, the line-up for ‘rock day’ was finally announced by Rock in Rio. This Thursday (25), the event organizers announced the shows by Avenged Sevenfold, Evanescence and Journey on Palco Mundo, for September 15th. At Sunset, the news comes from the bands Deep Purple, Incubus, Barão Vermelho and Planet Hemp inviting Pitty.

One of the festival’s most requested bands on social media, Avenged Sevenfold, is back after its only performance in 2013, closing the night of September 15th. On the same stage, Evanescence, who will also perform this year at Rock in Rio Lisboa, will perform a majestic show for one of the band’s largest audiences in Brazil, and Journey, one of the world’s iconic Classic Rock bands, will perform hits such as “Don ‘t Stop Believin'”, considered by Forbes the “Greatest Song of All Time”. The Paralamas do Sucesso, previously announced, will be responsible for opening Palco Mundo on this day.

On the Sunset Stage, the rock energy will be no different. Deep Purple will debut in Cidade do Rock as the main attraction of the day on this stage. Member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, the band owns true anthems of the genre such as “Smoke on the Water” and “Highway Star”. Incubus, on the other hand, returns to Rock in Rio after seven years. Known for incorporating a variety of styles, including rock, funk and electronic elements, throughout their career, the group has received numerous awards and nominations.

The news doesn’t end there. Brazilian rock will also have space on the Sunset Stage. Planet Hemp and singer-songwriter Pitty will come together for one of the biggest meetings in Brazilian music. Soon before, Barão Vermelho appears, with Rodrigo Suricato.

Zé Ricardo, artistic vice-president of Rock World, the company that created, organizes and produces Rock in Rio and The Town, will promote a meeting that promises to go down in the festival’s history: Planet Hemp invites Pitty.

“Last year, Pitty brought together iconic MPB voices to do a reinterpretation of their debut album ‘Admirável Chip Novo (Re)Ativado’ and featured Planet Hemp for a reinterpretation of the title track. For Rock in Rio, I wanted to provoke them… about what a show with Planet Hemp’s greatest hits would be like along with Pitty’s striking voice, stage presence and lyrics. Added to this, we will also have Barão Vermelho with an unprecedented show in Cidade do Rock, with his anthological songs, true classics of national rock”, celebrated Zé Ricardo.
