This Monday (20), the Los Angeles court ruled that Rakim Mayers, known by his stage name A$AP Rocky, will judgment after being accused of shooting a friend in 2021. The artist, who has two children with singer and businesswoman Rihanna, claims he is innocent.
The accusation was made by Terell Ephron, nicknamed A$AP Relli. Alongside the rapper, he was one of the founders of the hip-hop collective A$AP in New York, in 2008, when they were both still in high school.
Ephron accuses A$AP Rocky of shooting him with a semi-automatic weapon in front of a hotel in Hollywood, in November 2021. The two were arguing and the rapper allegedly shot him.
According to Epron, A$AP Rocky shot him several times and ended up being slightly injured in one hand.
Preliminary hearing
The court’s decision was made after a preliminary hearing that took place last week. Ephron reported that the friendship with A$AP Rocky ended as he felt the rapper felt “higher“.
He declared that the collective opened the doors for the rapper to achieve fame, but accuses him of having forgotten of the other founding members of the group.
According to Ephron, the 2021 fight, which resulted in the shooting, was motivated by business. He claims the star has not kept his word on commercial agreements.
A$AP Rocky’s defense denied the accusations and pointed out that Ephron also filed a civil lawsuit to try to get money.
