National production is inspired by the robbery of the safe of the company Prosegur, in Ciudad del Este, in 2017.
The streaming platform Netflix made available to subscribers, this Tuesday (14), the episodes of the first season of the Brazilian series DNA do Crime, inspired by the investigations into the robbery at the headquarters of the company Prosegur, in Ciudad del Este, Paraguay, which occurred in April 2017.
The plot follows the hunt for the perpetrators of the crime, who fled to Brazil via routes such as Lake Itaipu. Some of those involved were identified using high technology, such as collecting DNA samples from objects and debris that transformed the transport company’s building block into a war scene.
The production is in charge of Heitor Dhalia and Leonardo Levis, with Rômulo Braga (Benício), Maeve Jinkings (Suellen) and Thomas Aquino (Sem Alma) in the main roles. Many of the scenes were recorded in municipalities in the trinational region, such as Santa Terezinha de Itaipu and rural areas close to the plant’s reservoir.
“The Federal Police has a mission – and will do everything to fulfill it. Inspired by real crimes, my new police action series DNA do Crime tells the surprising story of federal police officers who use DNA trails to dismantle the world’s largest bank robbery ring on the border of Brazil and Paraguay”, says Netflix, in the summary of the trailer available on YouTube.
