Held on Tuesday night (7), the Multishow 2023 Awards had a poor performance in its debut on open TV. Aired on Globo right after the soap operas “Terra e Paixão” and “Todas as Flores”, the award show failed to reach double digits in audience numbers.
Data from Greater São Paulo obtained by F5 show that the show presented by Ludmilla, Tadeu Schmidt and Tata Werneck scored 9.7 ratings points. The result is 23% lower compared to the average of the last four Tuesdays of the time.
On pay TV, however, the festival managed to reach the audience leadership among pay television channels, surpassing the Viva channel, which leads prime time with the reruns of old Globo soap operas.
The result draws attention because Globo had a good night on Ibope. “Terra e Paixão” broke its historic record with 30 ratings points in the capital of São Paulo. “Todas as Flores”, shown before the award, achieved 21 points, its best result on Tuesday nights.
Iza was the big winner of the award. The pop singer surpassed names like Luísa Sonza and Ludmilla and won three of the 23 award categories.
“Thank you very, very much to everyone who believed in my work, who understands my way of being and who inspires me, it’s very special to be here in front of so many unbelievable people who love and inspire me”, said the emotional singer, by winning Artist of the Year, the main event of the night.
Another highlight was Xande de Pilares, who won in the category of best album of the year with “Xande Canta Caetano”, beating “Escândalo Íntimo”, by Luísa Sonza.
