The year 2018 resembles that mix of feelings that precede a penalty in a final. Unhappy with what she (rarely) saw in the mirror, Belle Silva had a crucial decision to make: either change her habits and lifestyle or kick the bucket, in this case, and live in peace with the scales. It was precisely at the time of the World Cup in Russia that she was noticed on social media. Much for the party she threw, with an entourage worthy of organized fans, in the stadiums where Brazil and her husband Thiago Silva played, much for the shape that was 30 kilos heavier.

“People talked about my customized blouses. Guys, I parroted all that so no one could focus on my body. I only had a pair of white pants that fit me!”, she recalls: “My turning point was when I realized I was going to get sick, that I could no longer play with my children, be willing and seeing a family with diabetes and high blood pressure. This would happen to me too.”

Five years later, Belle celebrates not only a new, toned and slim body, but also the recovery she managed to overcome depression and obesity. “They call me a fitness muse. I’m far from being that, guys! I exercise with the power of hatred. I love drinking wine. I can’t go without it. What fitness muse is this?”, she asks, laughing.

The fact is that Belle Silva became a reference. In the office of endocrinologist Douglas Tigre, she is an example. “They come here with her photo and ask me for a similar body,” he says. Not by chance, after she started treatment five years ago, the number of consultations exploded. There was a waiting list of 25 thousand people. The Belle Silva phenomenon happened.

Other players’ wives came to Tigre because of her, who came to him after an aunt managed to lose weight.

“I had already done everything, there was someone who tried to lose weight and even went through my trash to see what I ate. I was about to put a balloon in my stomach, I had already thrown in the towel. I felt like crap. How could so many people do it and I couldn’t?” he says.

After seeing the doctor, Belle started to believe. Him, not so much: “When I left her house, I sat in the car and prayed. Because either I was going to succeed and achieve Belle’s goal, or I was going to make mistakes and fail. I say that she was my biggest professional challenge to date.”

Not that Belle doesn’t meet her goals. But depressed and discouraged, it would be easy to give up at the first obstacle. It didn’t fail and today she celebrates being at almost the same weight as when she met Thiago as a teenager, around 50 kg. She eliminated 30% of fat alone. But she asks if she ever looks in the mirror…

“I don’t admire myself, I don’t like it. I go there, see if that outfit is cool and that’s it. It’s still a barrier for me”, he confesses.

On this journey of influence, the only thing she doesn’t do is give the recipe for success in her weight loss: “Everyone knows that I have medical support and so on, but I don’t post a miracle there that doesn’t exist, or my menu, what I I take it. That would be irresponsible, because each person is different.”

Today Belle is not careless. If she slips, she calls a team to help her. She has a nutritionist, doctor, personal trainer, psychologist, on call, everything to maintain the purpose of a life far from the Bele of before. And she pays dearly for it.

“It’s not an exaggeration, if I have an event, if I want to change from thin to more muscular, or if I want to achieve some goal, I really do it. In that time I’ve already spent the entire cost of a Porsche (between R$500,000 and R$1 million). I pay everyone’s ticket to come and meet me. And I’m aware that there are few people who can do that. I recognize my privilege and I value it. And when I’m putting down the steel, Thiago gives me a touch: ‘look, you’re going to get fat again'”, he observes.

Thiago met a skinny Belle when he was a teenager. But he never criticized her when the scales started to rise and the mannequin got bigger, she guarantees.

“Thiago never mentioned it. He knew he was hurting me, but he didn’t control me or tell me what I should do. And he’s an athlete! He has discipline, a different diet, a different rhythm. After I lost weight and he saw how much good it did me, he went to see my doctor”, he says.

There are those who doubt that Belle relearned how to eat – she even has a chef who prepares balanced meals and pulls her ear and “hands it over” to her nurse when she slips – or spends a lot of time at her home gym and points to surgery as being responsible for her new shape.

“The only thing I did after losing weight was the silicone implant because it didn’t fit. But nothing else. I had an abdominoplasty years before starting the treatment. The other day a doctor suggested that I have LAD lipo. Then I showed her my abdomen. Is it necessary, guys?”, he says proudly, clutching his stomach.
