This Thursday (2), her birthday, Monica Iozzi returned to social media after being away from the web for more than two months. In a video published on Instagram, the artist said that she took her period off to treat dysbiosis, a type of imbalance in the intestinal flora that leads to low immunity. As a result, Monica had been having several other illnesses due to her clinical condition.

“As some of you may have already noticed, I was away for a while. It was a very precious period for me. You know those moments when you have to stop, organize your life and accomplish your priorities? It was a very good time. I had a little health problem, as I talked to you about earlier. I had an imbalance in my body, which is something that really disrupts the balance of your intestinal flora. Then you stop absorbing nutrients as you should,” he said.

The actress added: “I had this very serious condition, which caused my immune system to be weakened, having one disease after another, to the point that I left “Las por las”. But I’m passing by to say that I’m fine and I finished the treatment. I’m 100%.”

Monica Iozzi was replaced by Mariana Santos in ‘Elas por elas’

Monica would play Natália, one of the protagonists, a role that went to Mariana Santos. The character is a woman obsessed with her brother’s death who is determined to discover the whole truth. In the original version, the role was played by Joana Fomm.

When the actress left the cast of the serial, she used social media to explain that her departure was due to her medical condition.

“Throughout all these years of my career and public life, I’ve always been transparent with you, right, guys? And that continues to be a characteristic of mine. That’s why I’m here, now, to tell you that I’m leaving the cast of the soap opera ‘Elas por elas’ , for health reasons. Just over a month ago, I started to feel recurrently unwell. With infections and low immunity, I had some episodes that took me to the hospital a few times”, he said, at the time.

“But calm down, guys! I’m fine, with medical care, but, unfortunately, this condition prevents me from giving myself 100% to work”, wrote Monica in her Instagram stories. And he continued: “Today, in a conversation with TV Globo, we chose for me to no longer be in the cast. Of course, this saddens me, but it really is the least thing to do now. I need to pay full attention to my health, my well-being”, he added at that time.
