Rio – Priscilla Alcantara, 27, informed fans that she will begin a ‘new era’ in her career. In an open letter published on Instagram this Tuesday, the singer evaluates her musical trajectory, says she will no longer use her surname and thanks her fans for their love.

“I’m very proud of my journey, every detail of it has brought me here, always moved by the new, by the different, by what I haven’t yet seen, haven’t experienced… I’ve never been satisfied with ‘the same old’, I think because That’s why, when I look back, I see courage, courage to try, make mistakes, mature, courage to change”, she began, deleting all previous publications on her social network.

“I like to think about the diamond cutting process, it’s like us in the process of evolution. Life is cutting, opening our facets, then more and more light comes in, and the shine of what we really are increases. We are a brutally cut diamond, and each diamond is unique, there is no point in expecting one to be the same as another”, he continued.

“That’s where my heart is and that’s where my art comes from, I’m grateful for everything I’ve experienced as ‘Prisciila Alcantara, only I know the joys, but also the many pains that the baggage of that name brings me, that’s why I decided to leave her here and continue being just PRISCILLA. ‘I wanted you to know me as Priscilla who sings’, as I said 20 years ago, singing, not meeting other people’s expectations, just singing”, she stated.

“In this new moment, I wish you the freedom in bed that I found to find myself. Enjoy every note, every sound, every melody, take ownership of every phrase, every story, feel every moment, may these songs be the soundtrack of your liberation to simply be. Let the new era begin, let PRISCILLA begin”, he concluded.

In the caption of the publication, the artist wrote: “To the fans of ‘Priscilla Alcantara’, thank you very much. Welcome to the new era. Let it begin PRISCILLA. Chapter 1 – The Reset (Wednesday, 11am). Chapter 2 – The Sample (Thursday, 11am). Chapter 3 – Priscilla (Friday, 11am)”.

This is not the first change in Priscilla’s career. After 13 years in gospel, she decided, in 2021, to launch a project with a more pop feel.
