This is so clay! Lindsay Lohan, Amanda Seyfried and Lacey Chabert reprized their characters from “Mean Girls” (2004), in iconic scenes, for a commercial in the USA. The trio returned to North Shore High School as the older versions of Cady, Karen and Gretchen, bringing many references from the film!
The first of all was to launch the commercial on a Wednesday, a day marked by the phrase from Plásticas: “On Wednesdays we wear pink!”. The immersion was so great that the recording began with images of the school and a new group of popular girls. “On the North Shore, some things never change. On Wednesdays, we still wear pink.”narrates the protagonist of Lindsay.
Almost twenty years later, Gretchen appears in a position similar to that of Regina George’s mother (played by Rachel McAdams), who goes to the mall with her daughter and her friends. “Come on, honey, we’re going shopping!”, she says, excitedly. Furthermore, she tries to be the companion mother who encourages teenagers to do perfect dances on TikTok.
Her daughter, meanwhile, is obviously enrolled at North Shore. The place has none other than Cady as director. She tries to appear cool around young people, and maintain communication with slang that she used as a teenager, but it doesn’t work out very well. “Even as a high school counselor, I was still learning.”confesses the redhead.
The same happens with the character of Lacey, who tries at all costs not to let the term “clay” die. The eternal preppy then ends up being cheated on by her own daughter. “That’s not going to happen, mom! Stop trying to make ‘the clay’ happen!”, replies the girl. The video continues with several students talking frantically about the company in the commercial, just like the original cast of “Mean Girls” did when referring to the plastic queen.
And Karen? Calm down people! She followed her ‘passion’ for meteorology and became a journalist in the field. “Karen Smith is here with the weather. There is a 30% chance that it is already Wednesday”, speculates the blonde, bringing a reference to her line in the original film. Next, she tries to catch a ball that is thrown onto the field. Some things never change…

Christmas dance
It’s impossible to forget this moment, which even Kris Jenner staged in Ariana Grande’s “Thank U, Next” video! Elsewhere, Cady, Karen and Gretchen appear together in the high school auditorium for the provocative performance of “Jingle Bell Rock”, originally sung by Bobby Helms. Just like Regina’s mother, Gretchen soon gets up to film her daughter dancing on stage.

“While the female world was at peace, the world peace agreement was just beginning”, says Lohan before chaos breaks out on the North Shore. The take was inspired by the moment when copies of the Book of Arraso, written by Plásticas about other students, are spread in the corridors by Regina George. Right now, “Mean Girls” fans briefly see Daniel Franzese as Damian, Cady’s faithful friend. Watch:
