Itabuna City Hall performs janitorial and maintenance services in the city center

Itabuna City Hall started the week with janitorial and maintenance services on Fernando Cordier and Firmino Alves avenues, in the city center. Several teams from the Department of Public Cleaning of the Secretariat of Infrastructure and Urbanism (SIURB) are mobilized.

Field workers are focused on clearing public areas around the Cachoeira River and scavenging (removing vegetation and weeds from curbs and cracks in sidewalks and pavements).

It is important to remember that cleaning waste is also being collected and correctly disposed of in the CVR Costa do Cacau certified landfill.

The director of the Public Cleaning Department of the Public Services Superintendency, Lázaro Pellegrini, highlighted that during this week the teams will advance to other regions of the city in the daily effort to remove recurring dumps.

“This is because our work is constant, not only cleaning and removing waste, rubbish and debris but also raising awareness among the population about the importance of correctly disposing of this waste at the appropriate times and locations”, he highlighted.

Lázaro added that people can cooperate with City Hall’s efforts, through the Department of Public Cleaning and Biosanear, so that the city remains clean.

“Itabuna is a regional center for services and commerce. Therefore, we need it to always be sanitized and clean for the benefit of the population and people who come in search of goods and services”, he concluded.
