Araraquara performs vaccination duty against covid-19 this Saturday (24). In all, 11 health units will be open from 8 am to 3 pm.

With the exception of children aged 3 and 4 years, the shift is intended for children, from 5 years old, and adults, with application of all doses.

The units of Vila Xavier, Vale Verde, Adalberto Roxo, Selmi Dei I, Iguatemi, Iedda, Hortências, América, Santa Angelina, Bueno de Andrada and Bela Vista will be open.

In relation to children aged 3 and 4 years, the municipal health department clarified that there are not enough doses of the immunizing Coronavac, which is the only one applied in this age group.

“We are reorganizing ourselves again, taking into account the demand and the stock of Coronavac that we have, because this 3 and 4-year-old range has to be vaccinated exclusively with this immunizer. As soon as we receive more doses, we will disclose the resumption of normal care “, explained Glaucia Falcoski, coordinator of Health Surveillance.

This week, on account of demand and optimization of the use of doses, Health announced that vaccination of children in general would be done only on Fridays, from 8 am to 3 pm, in all health units.

This schedule is normally maintained for children over 5 years old. However, with low stocks, the application of the first dose only at 3 and 4 years old is interrupted.

Regarding the application of the 2nd dose for children aged 3 and 4 years, it will start next week – in those who are at least 28 days after the 1st dose – but only at SESA, from 8 am to 2 pm, still for the sake of optimizing the immunizing agent.

The doses of immunization against Covid-19 are distributed to municipalities by the Regional Department of Health (DRS III – Araraquara), an organ of the Government of the State of São Paulo.
