After fan speculation, a source close to the actors Nicola Coughlan and Luke Newton commented to People, this Tuesday (7), about the rumors that the stars of “Bridgerton” would be living a romance in real life. Although the duo appeared hand in hand at the launch event of 3rd season of the series in Australia, on April 21st, the insider revealed that Nicola and Luke are “co-stars who support each other” but “aren’t dating.”
Recently, the actors stated that the new season of the series promises to deliver even more spicy moments. In conversation with Teen Vogue, Nicola detailed the behind-the-scenes of the hot moments and confirmed that she and Newton “rested” together and naked between one scene and another.
Penelope Featherington’s interpreter commented that she felt protected acting with her colleague: “Luke made me feel very cared for. Like we really have each other’s backs and we can also laugh about it. To the point where we were lying under a blanket and thinking, ‘We’re really relaxed now‘”.
In the same conversation, Newton, who plays the romantic Colin Bridgerton, was amused by the situation. “Yeah, in the middle of the day you just relax and be like, ‘I don’t even care if I’m naked.’“he recalled. “We were having a lot of fun. They said, ‘Do you want to stand up?’ and we thought, ‘No, no, I’m fine. I’m comfortable‘”, said Nicola.
At the event in Australia, the actress was also asked about reports that she and Newton broke a piece of furniture while filming a sex scene for the show, and she responded: “Yes absolutely yes“. Luke, in turn, explained what happened. “It felt like a really safe space. There were times when we were able to explore the scene and experience it in different ways and it ended up breaking a piece of furniture“, he said. And he added: “We just laugh”. He commented that he hopes the scene will appear in some episode.
The first part of season 3 of “Bridgerton” premieres on May 16th, followed by part 2, which arrives on June 13th on Netflix. You can watch the trailer below:
