“Suits” will get a spin-off from NBC Universal, five years after the last season aired. The information was revealed by the magazine Variety.
The new series will be called “Suits: LA”, and will tell the story of a former New York federal prosecutor named Ted Black. He became known for defending powerful clients in Los Angeles.
However, your current situation is complicated and your company is in crisis. “To survive, he must assume a role he has played with contempt throughout his career,” says the synopsis.
Just as in the original series, launched in 2011, the protagonist will have a team, the lives of these people — and professionals — will also be explored in the plot.
“All of this happens as events from years ago slowly unfold and lead Ted to leave behind everyone and everything he loved.”
For now, no name has been confirmed in the cast of “Suits: LA” — and no actor from the original cast is expected to participate in the project.
The series already had a spin-off called “Pearson”, starring Gina Torres, who played the character Jessica Pearson. As you remember Colliderthe production was not as pleasing to the audience, and ended with one season, in 2019.
Record in the USA
“Suits” became the most watched series of 2023 in the United States, with 57.7 billion minutes watched. Consequently, the production broke the 2020 record of “The Office”.
Last year, the production had already spent 12 consecutive weeks leading the Nielsen rankings with 1.79 billion minutes of viewing in the country on Netflix and Peacock, in the period from September 18th to 24th.
On “Suits: LA,” creator Aaron Korsh is a writer and executive producer alongside David Bartis and Dog Liman and Gene Klein. UCP, also from the original series, is the studio for the new spin-off. It will be directed by Victoria Mahoney.
