Bruno Montaleone is confirmed to be in the cast of ‘Homem com H’, a biopic that will begin filming in the next few days in São Paulo. Montaleone will play Marco de Maria, companion of Ney Matogrosso, who will be played by Jesuíta Barbosa in the film. Marco passed away due to AIDS, after 13 years at Ney’s side. The recordings will take place in São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro.
Monteleone shares a little about his character’s story: “Ney met Marco when he was still very young, around 20 years old. Marco was in medical school. He loved the beach and took care of Ney, his health and nutrition, despite being the youngest in the relationship.”
“The love that he and Ney built is beautiful, and seeing the maturity of this relationship and how they faced life’s adversities together is admirable”, adds Montaleone.
The actor stated that his research process to compose the character included reading biographies about Ney. He also watched films and some reports that helped him reinforce the atmosphere of the time, such as the way society behaved in general. “It’s also strange to see the growth of AIDS in the world, and especially as it was in Brazil,’ he said.
This is actor Bruno Montaleone’s fourth feature film, after ‘Exchange Diaries’ (2021), ‘Detective Madeinusa’ (2021) and ‘Perdida’ (2023). At 27 years old, he has an extensive TV CV, with nine soap operas under his belt.
‘Man with H’ follows the story of Ney Matogrosso from childhood to the present day, showing his challenges, the prejudices he faced and great loves. The film is written and directed by Esmir Filho and produced by Paris Entretenimento.
For Monteleone, it is an honor to be part of the cast of this production and tell the story of one of the greatest performers and one of the most striking voices in Brazilian culture.
