— Life as a businessman here in Brazil is tough. We have several businesses and thank God some prosper well, but others not so much. We had a healthy relationship with the bank, but, unfortunately, they became tougher in negotiations where we found their stance predatory and greedy — said Correa last Wednesday (08), in an interview with the newspaper Folha de S.Paulo.

In addition to the debt with Banco do Brasil, Hickmann Serviços Ltda also owes Banco Safra and Sistema de Crédito Cooperativo (Sicredi) for million-dollar debts. According to the São Paulo Court of Justice (TJSP), the initial actions filed against the couple total more than R$4 million.

In the same interview, Corrêa tried to defend his wife about news that he considered “false and misleading” about the debts. He ended his speech trying to show anger about the presenter’s image having been affected in the public eye due to the financial crisis.

— We don’t want to tarnish the name of Ana Hickmann, a woman who only works and produces, who promotes female empowerment — concluded the businessman.

The 42-year-old presenter registered a police report against her husband for bodily injury and domestic violence last Saturday (11). The case occurred after an argument in the house where she lives with Correa, in Itú, in the interior of São Paulo. He even admitted to the fight, but denied “greater consequences”. Hickmann chose not to seek a protective order against her husband.

According to Ana, she was in the mansion’s kitchen talking to her 10-year-old son, when the subject of the conversation bothered Correa. They would have started to argue and the child would have left the room scared when the man changed his tone of voice.

The first violence suffered during the fight, according to the statement, occurred when Alexandre pressed Ana Hickmann against the kitchen wall. According to the report, two employees of the house were in the room and witnessed everything. He then allegedly threatened to headbutt the presenter.

Ana also told the police that she managed to free herself from Alexandre and went towards the kitchen exit to get her cell phone. At this moment, he would have gone after her, purposely closing the sliding door on the presenter’s left arm.

Hickmann also states, in the police report, that she managed to lock her husband outside the kitchen and, only at that moment, did she feel safe to call the police. He left the scene before the police arrived.
