Electric vehicle manufacturer Tesla, owned by businessman Elon Musk, was the target of an attempted invasion by activists opposed to the expansion of a factory in the city of Grueneheide, near Berlin, Germany.

The protest brought together more than 800 people and ended up leading to a direct confrontation with the police when some of them tried to enter the premises illegally this Friday (10). According to the agency Reutersseveral were detained.

Some of the protesters damaged the manufacturer’s vehicles using pyrotechnics and paintwork at a car storage facility near the facility, a police spokesman said.

The billionaire reacted to the attempted invasion of the social network X, which he also owns. “Why do the police let left-wing protesters escape so easily?” asked Musk, who also communicated through the platform that the protesters were unable to access the factory, despite the plan.

This was not the first protest against the Tesla factory in Germany. In March, the leftist group Vulkangruppe was accused of causing an arson attack that cut power to the facility and other nearby properties. With the alleged attack, Tesla had to interrupt production activities at that time.
