Arezzo and Soma: Is the moment favorable for a merger?

Rafael Passos, from Ajax Asset, assesses that the potential agreement occurs “at a favorable time, where the sector is facing short-term challenges and the impacts of MP 1,185”.

According to the analysis, the merger is positive for both companiesconsidering complementary businesses and robust synergy in the operation.

For Passos, the combination of businesses can unlock value amid opportunities for cross of products among existing brands (footwear-clothing), sales channels and international expansion.

On the negative side, the analyst draws attention to possible concerns with the integration of the companies, but believes that the consolidation of two industry leaders, in addition to the know-how of the executives present, must overcome the challenges.
