Shopee leaves country after announcement about closing operations

According to information from the Reuters website, on September 9, 2022, Sea Ltd., owner of Shopee, announced the closure of activities in Argentina. Shopee Chief Executive Chris Feng explained in an internal email that the company needed to focus resources on core operations.

Through the extinct Twitter, now called X, Shopee Argentina communicated about the decision to close its activities.

“Dear Shopee users, we regret to inform you that Shopee Argentina will stop operating from September 8, 2022 at 10am. All orders placed before this time will continue to be processed and serviced normally. And after-sales services and support will continue to be available until October 31st for all users who have made purchases on our platform. We appreciate all your support and sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused,” the statement said.
