GOODBYE
The news of the closure of a company that had a presence in the Rio Grande do Sul and Santa Catarina markets for 42 years shook the region.
With 2,500 employees, Mobra, specialized in surveillance and facilities services, decided to file for bankruptcy and close its activities, according to Jornal NH.
In the statement sent to employees and partners, the company indicated unfair competition, which was marked by prices well below the market, and the impacts of the pandemic as the reasons for the crisis.

These challenges led to gigantic debt, leaving Mobra with no alternatives.
Antônio Carlos Coelho, managing partner of Grupo Mobra, stated that: “We did what was humanly possible to guarantee the continuity of the company. The prices charged by competitors were predatory, making the operation unfeasible.”
Also according to the portal, the company, which provided services to banks, companies and public institutions, filed the self-bankruptcy request on May 21 of this year.
In January 2023, Mobra began to face delays in paying salaries and benefits, which led to the termination of contracts by some clients and a ban on participation in bidding processes.
Even after paying off part of its labor liabilities, Mobra opted for self-bankruptcy as a measure to settle other debts.
