This growth was driven by the public in the age group between 30 and 39 years old, a group that has more than 204 thousand internet users. The increase in the number of people aged 60 or over also influenced the leverage — more than 199 thousand elderly people accessed the internet last year.
Three out of every 10 new internet users in the state of Bahia were aged 30 to 39 while another three were people aged 60 or over.
In 2021, 10.3 million internet users were registered in Bahia, which represents 79.7% of people aged 10 or over.
With a growth rate of 6% compared to 2021, Bahia exceeds the national average in 2022, which was 3.8%, going from 155.7 million to 161.6 million — an increase of over 5.9 million internet users from one year to the next.
