The Ibovespa closed lower this Wednesday, with investors operating cautiously, paying attention to the vote on tax reform in the Congress plenary, expected for today. Falling, shares of oil companies, especially Petrobras, put pressure on the main B3 index after a reversal in the outlook for oil prices.

The diary for this Wednesday (8) was empty. There was only the release of Brazilian retail sales, which increased 0.6% in September compared to the previous month and rose 3.3% compared to a year earlier, reported the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE) this Wednesday .

Investors kept an eye on speeches by the president of the United States central bank, looking for clues about a pause in monetary tightening, however, Jereome Powell did not talk about North American monetary policy in his speech. In Brazil, voting on tax reform was on the radar, as well as speeches by Campos Neto, Haddad and Lula.
