As part of the celebrations of the country’s bicentennial of Independence, the National Arts Foundation launches, this Thursday, the first two volumes of the series “Prêmio Funarte de Dramaturgia – 200 years of arts in Brazil”.
The publications were selected for the award, held in September 2021. Six books, all in online format, are part of the collection: three with an adult theme and the other three for children and young people. All will be available on the Internet, on the Funarte website.
The cultural project included the registration of 179 theatrical works, to celebrate this important moment in our history. Among the awarded works are: “Conclavo dos Bravos”, by Sandra Maria Job; “It was on the street of the scream”, by the author Cléber Tasquin, and ‘The independence of Maria Quitéria’, signed by Juliana de Caldas Rosa.
Although Brazil and the world are still facing a pandemic in 2021, the maintenance of the project, according to the institution, aimed to stimulate the emergence of new playwrights, to value the work developed by authors and other professionals in the theatrical art who were, at the time, with his work interrupted, due to the health crisis caused by covid 19.
Also according to Funarte, the realization of the Project sought to value the use of new technologies and map the production of national dramaturgy, with the publication of the works in the online format.
And the public will be able to access the result of this project, starting this Thursday. Note the website of the National Arts Foundation: https://www.gov.br/funarte/pt-br
