The actions of the National Traffic Week also focus on the education of the little ones. The work of raising children’s awareness is one of the fronts of Transitar em Cascavel’s actions, which often take place at the Municipal Public School of Trânsito. And this Friday (23) students from the Francisco Vaz de Lima Municipal School, in the Interlagos neighborhood, received even more reinforcement so that this knowledge is improved.

This is because students from the 1st to the 5th year received books from Educa, a project of the National Road Safety Observatory. Students from municipal schools Arthur Carlos Sartori, Professor Maria dos Prazeres and Dilair Silvério Fogaça will also be covered. In all, there are about 2,000 books that will be delivered free of charge to students who will obtain in the classroom, more knowledge about traffic and mobility, with content included in the Municipal School Curriculum. The project should be expanded to more units.

According to the person in charge of the Traffic Education and Citizenship Sector at Transitar, Luciane de Moura, Educa is a traffic education program for schools that aims to subsidize the implementation of traffic education, as a transversal theme in the basic education and also to promote learning in a contextualized, permanent and meaningful way. “The program also contributes to including traffic education in public policies and in pedagogical political projects of public and private schools, in addition to instituting a traffic education project and promoting intersectoriality in the treatment of the theme, so we can join the traffic theme with the other contents that are worked in the classroom. The activities are interactive and encourage student protagonism, and games and other resources are also used to assess student interest and participation. It is a consumable book, the student will be able to cut, write, without any problem”, she explains.

The books were delivered to the city of Cascavel, due to the relevance of the municipality in the context of traffic. The content was approved by the coordination of Transitar and also by the Municipal Department of Education. “Once again Cascavel stands out on the national scene as a municipality chosen to work on traffic education, given the actions that take place here and all the work developed as traffic management”, points out Moura.

Parallel to this work, there is also distance training that is offered to educators and coordinators who are developing the program.

FRANCISCO VAZ DE LIMA SCHOOL

The choice of the first delivery at the Francisco Vaz de Lima Municipal School was not random. The unit had a significant number of people being run over, but the scenario changed after the Rua Segura project. “From the moment that this road was modified, that is, an elevated lane was placed there, the place where children entered was changed. Before they used to enter the main road, now they use the access road next door, Avenida Interlagos, since then there are no more problems with the flow or complaints”, highlights Luciane de Moura.
