The writer Catarina Rochamonte launches this Thursday, 22, the book “Introduction to Political Philosophy – Democracy and Liberalism”. The event will be held at Restaurante O Banquete, at 7pm, where the Nova Acropolis school of philosophy is also based.
The work is a didactic analysis of fundamental introductory concepts of Political Philosophy, focusing on the notions of democracy and freedom.
The book is part of a literary cycle by the Evola group, which brings together women with free ideas, deep thinking and who seek a place, a story and a life project based on ethics and collective thinking, beyond the possibilities of limited judgment and from an individualistic vision.
Participating in the group are friends Emília Buarque Resende, Claudia Félix Magela, Aline Félix Barroso, Eloiza Sarubbi, Carla Sofia Pereira, Ingrid Feitosa, Roberta Brígido Ary, Águeda Muniz and Cristiana Fiúza Carneiro.
Catarina Rochamonte has a degree in Philosophy from the State University of Ceará (UECE), a Master’s in Philosophy from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN), a PhD in Philosophy from the Federal University of São Carlos (UFSCar) and a postdoctoral degree in International Law from the State University of Rio de Janeiro (UERJ). She is also the author of the books “A conservative liberal look at the present day” (Editora Chiado) and “A virus in the Republic of Impunity” (Edições 70) and “Eros em Ascensão” (Editora Patuá). She was a columnist for the newspapers O POVO and Folha de São Paulo.
