Literary Festival of Morretes starts free activities

The city of Morretes, on the coast of Paraná, hosts from Thursday (1st) to Sunday (4th) the Literary Festival of Morretes (FLIMO), with meetings, discussions and cultural experiences. This will be the second in-person edition of the event. In 2020, due to the pandemic, the festival took place online.

For the curatorship of the project, the inspiration was the forest that surrounds the city, a source of life and a path focused on the future of society.

For the debates, the project will bring authors such as Alice Ruiz, Jarid Arraes, Mariana Ianeli and Juliana Kerexu. In the artistic program, some examples of attractions are shows with Janine Mathias, fandango dances with Grupo Mandicuera, shows with groups Ás de Paus, Antropofocus and Baquetá. The public will also be able to count on workshops and a book fair.

The director of FLIMO, Ana Hupfer, highlights that all programming is free.

“The coolest thing about FLIMO is that it is open, free and free. So, anyone who wants to come to Morretes to follow the program, just arrive. We don’t have pre-registration, ticket and value, just arrive and the doors will be open for programming”, he reinforced.

There are four days of intense programming aimed at the whole family, occupying Praça dos Imigrantes and the Bandstand on the banks of the Nhundiaquara River. There are workshops, a graphic studio, a free library, theater and music presentations, storytelling and lots of fun.

For Ana Hupfer, it is a joy to hold an in-person event after so long in a pandemic.

“What moves us most as a festival is to promote meetings. We spend so much time in a pandemic, away from each other, we understand that it is a very good time for us to get together and talk about interesting topics, in addition to attractions such as theater and music. It will be a lot of fun to spend time in Morretes,” he stated.

FLIMO will also launch at the event the book created by the children who were part of the Lab Escuta, carried out by the project in July. On the occasion, the group participated in different artistic experiences, which culminated in the production of a story for the book and in the construction of children’s programming that will be materialized for other children at the festival. The Lab also generated a multimedia exhibition that will take care of Morretes, in the form of photographic interventions and testimonies from the little ones about life, literature and their perspectives on the future.
