In the middle of a tornado, a pickup truck was thrown into trees, with a family on board. The true hero of the story is a 9-year-old boy, Brason Baker, who managed to save his parents’ lives.
After the accident in Oklahoma, United States, Brason managed to get out of the vehicle and ran more than a kilometer in the dark to seek help. According to his uncle, Jhonny Baker, the boy only found his way back thanks to the lightning that illuminated the road. Before leaving, Brason made an emotional request to his parents: “Mom, dad, please don’t die. I will come back”.
The tornadoes that hit Oklahoma recently left a trail of destruction, according to information from the website Só Notícia Boa and KKTV. Many businesses, homes and properties were destroyed, leaving a large part of the population homeless.
At the time of the accident, Brason and his parents, Wayne and Lindy Baker, were on their way to a storm shelter when they were surprised by the force of the tornado. The family’s vehicle was thrown into a pile of trees.
After the accident, Wayne and Lindy were trapped in the car with serious injuries. However, Brason was unharmed and, guided by the lightning, ran in search of help. The boy stated that he needed to become Superman to save his parents.
Brason’s parents suffered broken backs, necks and ribs. The mother also had a punctured lung and broke her jaw and right hand, while the father had a broken arm. Both are recovering in a hospital intensive care unit.
Brason, who plays for a baseball team, was honored by his friends at the last game. All players wore helmets with stickers supporting the family. In addition, a crowdfunding was created to help the little hero’s parents recover.
