The reporter Aluisio Marquesfrom Belo Horizonte (MG), filed a labor lawsuit against Globe. The journalist claims that he was the target of moral harassment and asks for recognition of the accumulation of functions. He requests compensation of approximately 725 thousand reais.

The great detail in this story is that Aluisio, unlike other professionals who took the same attitude, such as Cecília Flesch and Veruska Donato, continues to be hired by the broadcaster today. Marques is on vacation at the moment and made the decision to activate the channel during this period. O NaTelinha had exclusive access to the process.

The journalist joined Globo Minas on February 18, 2015 as an intern and was hired almost a year later, on February 11, 2016, as television news coordinator. In the process, Aluisio claims that he began to develop other activities, as a text editor, teleprompter operator, image editor, reporter and cameraman.

The professional’s defense accuses Globo of enriching itself at the client’s expense, since he no longer received remuneration for extra activities and cites Marques’ co-workers who, supposedly, would earn more for the same functions.

For comparison purposes, reporters Ana Tereza Silva and Danilo Teixeira are mentioned, who would have a higher salary than Aluisio performing the same activity. Furthermore, as an editor, the defense complains that the client would receive less than Bernardo Queiroz and Daniel Moura.

In the action, André Froes de Aguilar, Aluisio Marques’ lawyer, claims the payment of overtime, intra-workday breaks, night shift bonus, salary bonus, transfer bonus and says that the client’s working day was 13 hours a day, from Monday to Monday, without a set time, and reports could be produced at any time, including in the early hours of the morning.

Aluisio Marques makes a serious accusation involving the pandemic period

In the process, Aluisio Marques’ defense also accuses Globo of forcing the employee to work with symptoms of Covid-19 in the middle of the pandemic. On August 30, 2021, the journalist presented mild symptoms of the disease and, when reporting the fact to his direct superior, Gleison Barreto, he was instructed to continue working normally, withholding information from his editorial colleagues, in order to avoid panic.

Aluisio also claims that he informed Marina Borges, then Head of Reporting, about the situation and was bombarded with questions. He then contacted Rio de Janeiro management and was seen by a nurse who recommended immediate removal. The reporter, however, says that he was only released by the head of Minas Gerais hours later and, the following week, included in the work schedule.

Due to the episode, Marques’ lawyers accuse Globo of hypocrisy, since, in public, it demanded the federal government for more effective measures to prevent Covid-19, including with an editorial in Jornal Nacional, while at the same time not provided support to the employee. According to Aluisio, the lack of empathy was not an isolated case in the pandemic. On June 9, 2022, the professional would have presented a three-day medical certificate and, even so, would have been included in the work schedule by the general director, Marcelo Moreira.

Finally, the defense describes another controversial episode, on July 15, 2022, in which Marques would have found it difficult to even use the bathroom, since, to do so, he needed the authorization of the editor-in-chief, Lídia Procópio, the which would prove the alleged persecution.

In an audio attached to the process as evidence, the manager even asks if Aluisio would take too long in the bathroom and what he would do, “if number 1 or number 2”. The situations were forwarded to the company’s compliance department, but the reporter did not receive any feedback.
