The building materials retail company C&C Casa e Construção announced the closure of its store in Bauru. The promotion has been made through a sponsored link on social networks and on banners posted on the establishment’s fence.

Located on block 20 of Avenida Nuno de Assis, in Vila Seabra, the unit began burning stock that will continue until this Sunday (5), with discounts of up to 60% and interest-free and interest-free installments.

The promotion covers a wide range of products, from building materials, finishing pieces, decor items and household appliances. Between March and April, the company also announced the closure of activities at the Barra da Tijuca and Sulacap units, in the city of Rio de Janeiro, and in São José dos Campos (SP). These, as well as the one in Bauru, continue to appear on the retail chain’s official website, totaling 26 stores and two warehouses in both states.

C&C Casa e Construção has been undergoing restructuring since the first months of 2023, with the closure of units such as Ribeirão Preto, São José do Rio Preto and São Bernardo do Campo already completed. The changes occur after Grupo Alfa, a conglomerate that brings together Hotéis Transamérica, Águas Prata and La Basque, sold the construction materials retailer to Arcos Gestão e Investimento (AGI).

DEFICITARY

The operation took place at the end of September last year and, according to information from the newspaper Valor Econômico, it would have generated around R$400 million. AGI was created by former executives from Legion Holdings, an investment company owned by businessman Fábio Carvalho, former president of Casa & Vídeo and responsible for the restructuring of Lojas Leader.

The sale of C&C Casa e Construção was structured by Prisma Capital, which acted as financial advisor to AGI. BTG Pactual was Alfa Group’s financial advisor in the deal.

As a result of the merger between Conibra and Madeira at the end of the 1990s, C&C, in 2023 alone, closed the doors of six units. Hired to restructure the chain, consultancy Galeazzi concluded that at least a third of the retail company’s operations are in loss.
