Google didn’t warn anyone, but it improved a very useful feature of Android 14 for those who like to use a tablet connected to their PC: the ALT+Tab function, used to switch between open apps more quickly, received slight improvements and now allows you to Browse up to six recently opened apps.

Until now, the feature only allowed you to navigate to the most recent app of all, and if you wanted to navigate to the previous one, you would have to press “Tab” two or more times while holding “ALT”. This process has now become more simplified.

The novelty was seen in a customized version (ROM) of the Android 14 QPR2running on a Raspberry Pi.

Within the new feature, if you press “ALT+Tab” on a physical keyboard connected to a tablet — and, obviously, that tablet is equipped with Android 14 —, a horizontal strip, containing the six most recent applications, will appear .

By holding ALT and pressing Tab, you can rotate the selector through all the listed apps. A seventh option – “Show X more apps” – will give you more options, different from the first six.

A demonstration was captured on video by Android Authority:

There is still no information on when this change will be made official across the entire list of tablets shipped with Android 14 – as we said, Google hasn’t even made an official announcement of the change – but if the company’s history gives any indication, the news is likely to appear. first on Pixel Tabletso this may still take a while.
