WhatsApp opened Communities events this Wednesday (1). With this, the tool finally eliminates the need to use alternative applications to make appointments with other people in the group. To complement this, “Topic Answers” were also launched.
The ability to tag events comes first to groups that belong to WhatsApp Communities, but will be expanded to all groups in the coming months.
“With events, it’s now easier for people to plan meetings directly on WhatsApp, whether scheduling a virtual meeting or a birthday dinner,” says the company.

In general, the function is a facilitator for a very common habit in groups: schedule meetings and collective appointments. However, previously, users had to use alternative apps, such as Google Calendar, for example, to create the reminder, something that made the process quite laborious.
When marked, All guests will be able to see information about the event in the “Group Information” section. Those who accept the invitation will receive an automatic notification when the date approaches, WhatsApp explained.

Expanding the possibilities for interactions in Communities, WhatsApp introduced “Replies in topics”. A tool finally allows members of a community to interact with administrators’ announcements in the “Notice Group” in an organized way.
With the addition, administrators can have more direct contact with group members, in addition to facilitating communication. Furthermore, unlike normal messages, replies appear grouped, muted and minimized by default, allowing everyone involved to see interactions with context.
