Last Tuesday (7), the fighting world was surprised by a video circulating on social media. In the images, the former Brazilian fighter UFC, Raphael Assunção, appears visibly excited during a jiu-jitsu event in Atlanta (USA). The athlete spat towards another man, with whom he had previously had a disagreement.

According to information, the confusion began after Assunção was the target of an illegal blow to the knee during a championship fight. When questioning his opponent, the Brazilian was allegedly disrespected and provoked, which led him to lose control and start spitting.

On his social networks, Raphael apologized for his behavior, acknowledging that he acted inappropriately, especially in an environment with children present. “I regret and apologize for acting that way with children and people around me,” said the athlete.

Despite the incident, the Brazilian highlighted that he managed to control himself and avoid “other unthinkable actions”. The former fighter also condemned his opponent’s attitude, stating that his gym “is known for carrying out this type of attack”.
