In the fourth international League of Legends championship in which it participates in a row, LOUD had, at MSI 2024, its worst campaign, being eliminated in the entry phase with two defeats and no victories, having won only one match in the two series.

In the three previous participations, LOUD also did not pass the stage, as did all the Brazilian representatives, but at least they managed to achieve more victories, even though the campaigns are not directly comparable, as there are differences in format between the championships, and there were changes to the throughout these two years of the organization’s dominance in the Brazilian Championship (CBLOL).

Why isn’t even the four-time champion LOUD doing well abroad? “I don’t know how to give that answer”, says Robo

LOUD international campaigns in LoL:

  • Worlds 2022 (Robo, Croc, Tinowns, Brance and Ceos): 3 wins and 2 losses in md1; 1 loss in tiebreaker md1; and 1 defeat in md5 by 3 to 1
  • MSI 2023 (Robo, Croc, Tinowns, Route and Ceos): 2 defeats in md3 by 2 to 0; and 1 victory in md3 by 2 to 0
  • Worlds 2023 (Robo, Croc, Tinowns, Route and Ceos): 1 victory in md3 by 2 to 0; and 2 defeats in md3 by 2 to 0
  • Worlds 2024 (Robo, Croc, Tinowns, Route and RedBert): 2 defeats in md3 – one by 2-0 and the other by 2-1

In the 2022 edition of Worlds, the sport’s World Championship, LOUD debuted on the international stage with its best campaign. There were three wins and two defeats in series in best of one match (md1). Subsequently, the team lost the tie-break md1 against the North American Evil Geniuses (EG) and lost to the Japanese DetonatioN FocusMe (DFM) by 3 to 1.

At MSI 2023, LOUD started with a 2-0 defeat to Europe’s G2 Esports, but escaped early elimination by beating DFM by the same score. The fall came in the next match, against the Taiwanese PSG Talon, with another 2-0. As a result, the Brazilian team said goodbye with two setbacks and a victory.

At Worlds 2023, LOUD beat the Vietnamese GAM Esports and lost to PSG, once again the executioner of the Brazilians. In the eliminatory match, in a rematch against the representative of Vietnam, the Brazilian team came out on top. All duels were 2-0. And LOUD left the championship with two defeats and one triumph.

It is difficult to compare LOUD at MSI 2024 with other Brazilian teams throughout history, because there are big differences in the format of the championships. It is true that a Brazilian team had never been eliminated without winning. All achieved at least one victory, but in best-of-one matches (md1). In other words, in the worst campaigns, the Brazilians won in a single game, which is not directly comparable to the md3 that LOUD played.

Robo and company came out winless in series, but, if each game is taken into account, the team achieved a victory, albeit in defeat.
