Two matches moved women’s basketball at Brazilian clubs this Saturday (4). In Asunción, Paraguay, Sesi Araraquara won their second game in the South American League. Brazil’s representative in the tournament easily beat Universidad de Chile, 75 to 47. Meanwhile, Unisociesc Blumenau found the strength to turn around and beat Santo André after spending most of the time behind the scoreboard. At home, at the Sebastião Cruz gym, victory in the Women’s Basketball League (LBF) by 68 to 65.

Sesi Araraquara is in Group A of the South American Women’s Basketball League. In the first round, the current champions of the Women’s Basketball League (LBF) had already won the Ambato Soldiers, from Ecuador, 83 to 53. In the last match of the group, the team led by coach João Camargo faces Felix Perez, from Paraguay, at 9 pm (Brasília time). The protagonist of the second triumph was wing/pivot Aline Moura. Shirt number 12 scored a double-double: scorer of the game with 20 points and 12 rebounds.

Who also stood out in the game was wing/pivot Emanuely, with 15 hits. Sesi Araraquara has two players in its squad with extensive experience with the Brazilian national team: the experienced center Érika and the point guard Débora. Aline Moura and her teammates led the scoring since the first quarter and this allowed coach João Camargo to make several changes, using the bench extensively for much of the game. Brazil once again has a representative in the South American League after two years of absence.

On Brazilian soil, more precisely in Santa Catarina, Blumenau passed Santo André in the LBF with great performances from pivot Maria Carolina, owner of a double-double, with 19 points and 13 rebounds, from wing/pivot Milena Rodrigues, also with two figures in two fundamentals: 13 points and 11 rebounds, and Argentine point guard Meli Gretter, with an incredible 16 assists. For the defeated team, the main characters were wing/guard Tassia, with 17 points, and wing Yasmin, 15.
