Lula stayed in RS for less than 3 hours

Two hours and 45 minutes. This was the time in which President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva remained in Rio Grande do Sul. The PT member traveled to the southern state last Thursday, 2, in the midst of the climate tragedy that is plaguing the region.

According to the agenda of Planalto Palace, the delegation under the command of the President of the Republic disembarked at the Santa Maria Area Base, in the interior of Rio Grande do Sul, at 9:45 am. At 12:30 pm, the team had already boarded at the same location to return to Brasília.

Still according to the official schedule, which is available to all citizens on the internet, Lula’s trip to Rio Grande do Sul was restricted to Santa Maria. The municipality is the electoral stronghold of the chief minister of the Secretariat of Social Communication, Paulo Pimenta, who was part of the delegation.

During the time he was in Rio Grande do Sul, the president made two commitments — at least according to the official agenda. He flew over part of the regions hit by heavy rain over the last few days and met with the governor of Rio Grande do Sul, Eduardo Leite (PSDB).
