The Pope’s Exorcist, a horror film starring Russell Crowe in the lead role, was an unexpected hit in 2023, grossing $76,987,621 worldwide.

The film tells the story of Father Gabriele Amorth, the Vatican’s main exorcist, who is called to analyze a case of demonic possession of a boy who demands his presence. However, this journey will lead him to encounter a conspiracy that the Church has long tried to hide.

Recently, the film’s producer Jeff Katz used his official account on the X platform to announce the film’s sequel. “Amorth Nation – I just got the call. It’s officially happening! Thank you to the incredible fans of The Pope’s Exorcist. You made this happen. Fuel up your Lambrettas – and get ready to ride.”, he states.

According to a recent interview with Russell Crowe, a trilogy was originally planned by the studio, which could end up happening if the sequel performs as well as the first film.
